Advisory Services
I offer a structured range of collection advisory and appraisal services for private collectors, families, estates, and institutions seeking clarity, strategy, and professional guidance around art and objects of value.
My work typically begins with an initial assessment and may then extend into deeper analytical review, formal appraisal, or ongoing advisory support, depending on the client’s needs and the nature of the collection.
Fees below are provided as a guide. Final scope and pricing are confirmed after a confidential intake.
How Engagements Are Structured
Most clients do not need to determine the exact service they require before getting in touch.
In many cases, the process begins with a brief conversation or confidential intake, after which I recommend the most appropriate scope of work. Some clients begin with a Collection Health Check and later move into deeper review or formal appraisal work; others come forward with a clearly defined need from the outset.
The aim is to ensure that the scope is proportionate, thoughtful, and tailored to the collection rather than forcing a one-size-fits-all approach.
Confidential Intake
Each engagement begins with a confidential intake to understand the size of the collection, the categories involved, the purpose of the engagement, and any immediate priorities.
From there, I will recommend the most suitable service path and confirm scope, timing, and fees.

Collection Health Check
Starting from $1,500
A Collection Health Check is designed as a first-stage diagnostic for clients who want a clearer understanding of their collection as a whole.
This engagement is particularly well suited to collectors who may know they hold important works or objects, but want an independent, professional view of where value is concentrated, what may require further attention, and what practical next steps should be considered.
A Collection Health Check may address questions such as:
where the strongest value in the collection appears to lie
whether there are gaps in documentation, inventory, or condition oversight
which works or objects may warrant fuller research, appraisal, conservation, or strategic review
how the collection is functioning overall from a management perspective
This service is often the most appropriate starting point for collectors who are not yet looking for a full appraisal engagement, but want clarity before making decisions.
Typical investment: from $1,500+, depending on collection size, category mix, and location.
Collection Intelligence Report
Typically from $3,500
A Collection Intelligence Report is a deeper strategic engagement for clients seeking more than an initial overview.
This service is designed for collectors who want a more developed understanding of the collection’s structure, strengths, risks, market positioning, and future direction. It is particularly appropriate for collections that are growing in complexity, value, or importance, or for clients considering acquisition strategy, rationalization, estate planning preparation, or longer-term stewardship.
Depending on scope, this engagement may include:
closer review of priority works or categories
collection-level analysis and value concentration observations
market context and strategic commentary
identification of areas requiring formal appraisal, further research, or specialist input
recommendations for management, prioritization, and future planning
This is a tailored advisory report rather than a generic summary, and is intended for clients who want meaningful professional insight at a higher level of depth.
Typical investment: $3,500 to $12,000+, depending on the number of works, categories involved, research depth, and reporting scope.
Appraisal, Advisory, & Special Projects
By proposal
For clients requiring formal appraisal work, ongoing advisory support, or more complex project-based assistance, services are structured on a bespoke basis.
These engagements may include appraisal assignments for insurance, estate, tax, charitable donation, financial planning, or collection management purposes, as well as broader advisory work for private collectors, family offices, institutions, or cross-border collections.
Examples of special projects may include:
formal appraisal assignments
collection planning and prioritization
estate and succession-related collection review
acquisition and deaccession guidance
multi-location collection oversight
institutional or strategic advisory engagements
Because these projects vary significantly in purpose, scale, reporting requirements, and jurisdiction, they are quoted individually.
Fees: tailored to scope and provided by proposal.
