Fee Structure

Never contingent on value, we charge a fixed fee of $150USD per hour for onsite inspection, research, and report writing. For larger collections consisting of 100+ items, a project fee can be negotiated in lieu of an hourly rate. Time and cost estimates are provided upon initial inquiry, and 50% retainer is due at the time of contract signing. Any remainder in fees will be invoiced and due upon delivery of the final report. A two hour minimum is required for each project. Online appraisals and Virtual Appraisal visits are also available.

Additional Fees

Additional fees*: actual hours not included in estimate, professional photography, transportation and lodging allowances for jobs outside of Cairo, expert or subcontracted third-party fees.

*(with prior client approval)

Reports

Appraisals can be delivered in the form of “Certified” written reports (Appraisal Reports) or oral “Professional Opinion of Value” (Restricted Appraisal Reports).

The essential difference between these two options is in the content and level of information provided.  The appropriate reporting option and the level of information necessary in the report are dependent on the intended use and intended users.

The two biggest differences to remember are that Restricted Appraisal Reports are limited to just the client as the intended user and cannot have any additional intended users, where Appraisal Reports can have intended users who are not the client, and Restricted Appraisal Reports generally state findings, where Appraisal Reports generally summarize findings and the research process.  Appraisal Reports are much more detailed in scope of work and documentation of research.  Depending on your intended use, either an Appraisal Report or a Restricted Appraisal Report may be more appropriate for your needs.
